A Kenzan, also known as a spiky frog, is a weighted base with metal spikes. It is used prominently in the Japanese art of flower arrangement, called Ikebana. Its practical purpose is to hold flowers in an upright and secure position, as well as improve water and nutrient absorption, thereby preserving the clarity of the vase's water for a longer time. Additionally, its base features a rubber gasket to prevent scratches.
